I have just installed a very nice new router called Asus RT-N66U.

One of the main features is the ability to have separate WiFi networks on 2.4Ghz & 5GHz.

Everything was going well, until I tried to connect my iPod Touch to the 2.4Ghz network. It could not see the 5GHz network unfortunately.

The iPod Touch could see the 2.4GHz network, but would only connect about 5% of the time. The trick to make it work was to login to the routers settings and change ‘Channel bandwidth’ to be 20 MHz, rather than the default 20/40Mhz.

After that it connected immediately.

I have been looking for a new bank for my UK business, but it is really difficult, time consuming and confusing….

Many sites have ‘reviews’ which are nothing more than paid listings… Could Martin Lewis work his magic here…

They all offer FREE BANKING, but only for first year…

They brag about their business and legal advice services etc. I don’t want that..

I want to place for clients to transfer in money and I can pay bills.

I would like to look at bank statements online, including credit/debit card statements. Also the ability to search and download statements in a CSV format.

I do NOT need a loan, need to pay in cash, use cheques, or want printed statements.

I want a really ‘minimal bank’. Does such a thing exist ?

If so, answers on postcard, or in the comments.

The only real difference is that the iOS app contains three videos in one app, and the Android version is sold as 3 separate apps. This was mainly due to the size restriction of 50MB for an Android app and 100MB for an iOS app.

I have just helped a friend set up and customise my umpteenth WordPress site ezonsnow.com.

This is run by the brother of the guy that runs dragonlodge.com, which is also about snowboarding, and also based on WordPress.

WordPress really is a fantastic system, with a huge eco-system behind it. There are plugins to meet every need.

Customising, upgrading and tweaking every aspect is well supported. It has had more than it’s share of security problems in the past. However the golden rule of always keeping it updated is easy to follow. A few clicks and you are good to go.

I always advise adding WP Super Cache to keep it running quickly, even when it receive a flood of requests. To help with security the 5G Blocklist helps to block unnecessary crawler and spiders. This is just a series of commands added to the root .htaccess file. This will stop a huge portion of the automated attacks before they reach WordPress or the MySQL database.
